The Power of Partnership in Affordable Housing
Ask anyone who’s been part of ODC’s story, and they’ll tell you — housing miracles don’t happen by chance. They happen when people come together.
For more than 20 years, ODC has united faith groups, city leaders, businesses, investors, and residents to help create safe, affordable places to call home — and stronger communities along the way. Each project is built not just with funding or permits, but with the persistence of people who care, and partnerships that hold steady when the work gets hard.
As LaDonna Hoy, ODC’s longtime community liaison, often says, “We need to stay tuned — to show up, work together, and step up to ever-changing housing challenges and opportunities.” That vigilance has shaped ODC’s work across the Twin Cities west metro, where growing need meets strong community resolve.
Through its partnership with Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners (IOCP) and many others, ODC helps connect affordable housing with supportive services that strengthen families — from education and employment to health and community connections.
These partnerships are what ODC calls housing miracles: the moments when vision, trust, and action meet. A neighborhood rallies around a new development. A partner steps in with the right support at the right time. A family finds stability after hardship.
And the work continues. Early conversations with new and prospective partners are underway, and ODC’s collaboration with local cities remains strong — especially around policies that support both preservation and new development. 2026 holds exciting opportunities, and we’re ready to turn challenges into life-changing housing miracles.
Our mission remains the same: to bring people and partners together so safe, affordable homes — and the chance to build strong futures — are within reach for everyone.
